The Ashley/Andrew dynamic is so classic. The drama queen tries to bully the repressed, stoic introvert into forming a close relationship. Ashley thinks pain is best revealed and Andrew believes that pain is best hidden. It's like watching a toddler lurching after a bunny. The poor thing is terrified, and the kid is hysterical with frustration. Erika spoke for me, when she said Ashley asked for it. Andrew is not the one who "snapped", ASHLEY is. She suddenly changed the rules, half way into the wh...... more

Ryan seems like he really dislikes Maci and Bentley. He never maintains eye contact, and he isn't loving in any physical or emotional way. I am confused as to why his parents want them to be together. Poor Maci, she is so sweet. I understand that everyone wants them to be a nice family, but can't they see that Ryan doesn't want to show love?... more

"NO mom would ever give up there kid for adoption. They shouldn't even be on the show and no one should even feel bad for them they did it to themselves." Yikes. DC2009, I must respond as an adopted person. You sound evil and slightly emotionally disturbed. In fact, all of the mothers who write venomous messages about how adoption is cruel and irresponsible offend those of us who are adopted. Adoption is NOT a sin. Try to find religion. Good homes are for everybody. Simply because YOU can provide ...... more

"I do think Catelynn and Tyler are getting a little too bent out of shape over the whole "What's Carly's full name?" situation. Give the adoptive parents some time and space, and let them tell you when it's best for everyone. I do not however think that it is unreasonable for them to think about their daughter and worry about her. She is still their daughter, even if she is being raised by another family. " Amen!... more

Woah. "...she should have MADE her life better for carly. thats what a mom is supposed to do..." Some people cannot simply MAKE THEIR DREAMS COME TRUE. Just because you are a capable person in some ways, does not mean that those ways are ways OTHER people are to be strong. Who wins in a fight, Wonder Woman or Aqua Man? It depends where they are. Do YOU, Baby. Peace out.... more

Real, I have also been "there". I think that you shouldn't shut up, but that you should WISE up. I am the product of "there", and I wouldn't trade anyone's decision for the one my parents made (all three of them). You and your man are happy, and have a good life, but some people don't. It looks to me as though Catelynn, Tyler and each of their parents are not in a situation to provide the joy and ease that everyone desires. Or do people cherish a hectic, stressful life, full of uncertainty? I love ...... more

knanieshoe is so right on! And also, No one has "cut all ties" Jessica, the adoptive parents are sharing pictures and updates, and accepting letters and e-mails to show to Carly when she is old enough. I am adopted, and I'll tell you the truth. My life has been awesome, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. You may love dirty diapers, but so did MY mother. I agree with people who say, "Don't use adoption as birth control," but I cannot agree that adoption does not solve a hairy situation. It makes...... more

Geeze, that is full of venom. I'm so glad that I was adopted by a stable family. I grew up in a nice house in the suburbs, went to a prestigious private college, and my parents gave (not loaned) me the down payment to buy my house. That is a lot more privilege than my single, unemployed birth mother, who had no family support and was at the end of her rope could have provided. She said that she didn't want me to grow up on Welfare. Some women can face the huge challenge of raising a child completely ...... more

Ya know, this attitude really gets my goat. "...real parents..." as if my adoptive parents are not REAL. I can see them and touch them, I'm pretty sure they are REAL, thank you. Attitudes such as this convey to we who are adopted that our REAL PARENTS don't want us, when in fact our REAL PARENTS adopted us. My parents love me as much as they love their biological son. A parent does not have to have genetic ties in order to parent.... more

proudmomma89, are you adopted? I am. How dare you speak for Carly, especially when you are wrong. Open adoptions answer the questions adopted children ask about their birth parents. I don't know if you know any adoptive parents, but they tell their children that their birth parents loved them enough to send them to a more able family. Adoption is not cruel. I don't feel like my birth mother did anything but the best for me, and my parents always told me that. Every baby deserves a stable, enrichin...... more

WOW! I have NEVER seen a mullet like that! That's like an UBERmullet! It's amazing to me that he thinks he is a good father (since he acts like he has the right to judge Catelynn's parenting), he doesn't even seem like a good PERSON. Who talks to anyone like that? To tell someone that you can't believe how awful their decision is...Butch is a role model for losers and cruel people. I guess prison isn't the best place to learn to socialize.... more

These competitions should not become more shady and political, in my opinion. I will have to stop watching this evolution into gladiator games within the Roman Senate. Can we not enjoy the simplicity of a bunch of bouts between teams of human beings? Let them socialize outside of the environment, let them betray each other in different ways. These are people who need to have lives after these creepy, restrictive, deceptive Spartan contests. Athens, anyone? More compassion, more brains, more CIVILIZ...... more

Poor Sarah, she was so intimidated, and meek. Also, she has no rhythm, and has to go after Ken, who has a very quick, hip-hop rhythm. She should have gone after Casey or Dunbar. Ken is intimidating, and now I see more of why she likes him. She wants him to protect her.... more

I absolutely agree with their decision. Children have a right to be raised in a stable, mature family with money. The people who have everything but children deserve them! How dare anyone compare the stresses of stay at home motherhood, or two parents working parenthood with stable, comfortable, mature parenting. Young people have problems that older people don't have, like what they are going to do in life to succeed. If a young, unstable couple admits that they don't have the wherewithal to provid...... more

Catelynn and Tyler give me hope that my birth mother does not suffer from her wise and loving decision to give me up for adoption. She was a single mother, with no family support. She wanted me to have a great life, so she had me adopted by a young doctor and his social worker wife. They had a 3 year old biological son, who is now one of my very best friends. The privileges of my up-bringing has been an advantage to me, and I thank my birth mother for having the wherewithal to think of ME before HERS...... more

Hey Lucy, how about this little ditty? Ken, you've been KENNY for too long, It's time to get a good job and leave your mom. Go buy some "big boy clothes", and look for your own home. What a meat head. He responded to "Good job, you need your a big, strong man." with "**** YOU, 'BIG STRONG MAN', NOTHIN', I'll throw you over my shoulder and butter your bread!" He has no concept that what he said is that he reacts to frustration by acting like a CAVEMAN. If a guy throws me over his shoulder, I'm not crazy for thinking that he uses brute force as his "go to" response to adversity or conflict. I mean, please. Air guitar is lame. Why do guys do it? I have never seen a female pretend she is playing a guitar. By the way, I noticed that Kenny ignored rhyming with bike. In fact, he hesitated. He probably wanted to use "like", as in "You're the girl I like." I wonder why Kenny is so self-confident. It is fascinating that he finds himself to be anything other that a spiteful, relentless bully. I think Tonya's idea that The Challenges are about putting it all out there, and telling the world what you've been through, is what gets her in trouble. MTV doesn't do these competitions to make the participants into better people. In fact, being sleazy, as Susie puts it, helps a person win. The paranoia of the game, and the difficulties of being isolated with a bunch of people for a long period of time are probably too much for a lot of people, but add mental illness and alcohol abuse to it, and VIO...... more

Kenny thinks that he is Napoleon Bonaparte. He single handedly assembled, trained, and crafted tbe perfect killing machine. This putz is busy claiming to be a brilliant conqueror. No matter the money, it is a game between people. The key words are "game" and "people". A dirty game does not have to involve hating women. Manipulative competitions can present events which focus more on the strengths women have inside of their BRAINS. These competions are gender-biased. I hated on the Island that...... more
